- NJDEP Public Comment page for all new LSP proposals with descriptions/images and your Comment Box

Please crucially speak out on LSP’s future on DEP’s consultants’ major new proposals, before Monday, 10/14  and please Oppose two of them (or any others you want to oppose in the comment boxes after each of three “Stations” ). Most of the proposals respect the overwhelming majority consensus for urban unstructured open space and nature. There's structured active recreation facilities mostly in interior 50 acres, shown in Station 3 for your optional comments.

Please scroll to Station 2’s second image "LSP-North "Programming" and expand it to see it better, and then in the blank Comment Box, please state, in your own words if you have time, that you “OPPOSE the ill-conceived, unrealistic and unfair ELIMINATION of the FREE 120 parking spaces in the “2 hour lot” by the Terminal – the only Free parking lot on Zapp Drive and used by urban residents and others for many reasons”. The consultants didn’t even give any explanations but whatever they are, alternatives can and must be found! Their Free 120 parking space elimination plan shows a small lot only for Tourist Buses which should park in the ferry lot.

In same Comment Box, please also Oppose the Gigantic three beach areas next to the unswimmable river (also in Station 2's second image). People relax, play and get sun on lawns. A smaller beach area with access for naturalists’ “seining” programs with students would be fine.

Also, their plan reduces ferry lot’s spaces which will negatively impact those coming to attend diverse performances of music, dance, theater, festivals etc. in the “performance lawn” where concerts and festivals have successfully been happening, right behind the ferry lot.

In the future with new amenities including the amazing interior habitats’ paths and Sheds re-uses - the shuttle buses, proposed tram and parking at LSP’s edges, will be essential but it is wrong to take away the Free two hour lot (and reduce ferry lot parking).

Top image below shows Free Lot with its 120 spaces at top left under the trees and by the nearby Terminal  and Empty Sky memorial at eastern end of Zapp Drive (and its historic Sheds due for remediation and re-use) and the other image is excerpt from consultants' North Side Station 2's second image showing the Gigantic beach areas, and the proposed much smaller Free Lot at the end of Zapp Drive, next to the North Lawn, only for Tourist Bus Parking (they now park in the ferry lot).
